Candy's writing for publication journey began in 2000. A graduate of Wofford College with a B.A. degree in English, Candy finally realized her love of words, years of journaling, and stories that danced in her head, begging to be written, were all part of God's call on her life to write for publication.

Knowledge gained from and connections made through Christian writers conferences and online writers' groups afforded Candy the opportunity to publish over 200 articles, devotionals, and stories in numerous magazines, compilation books, and on websites.

Candy is a contributing writer for Focus on Your Child  parenting publications The Angry Child, The Essentials of a Healthy Home , How to Help Your Child Grieve

A lifelong resident of Spartanburg, South Carolina, Candy is wife to Jim and mother to Neely and Jay. She sings in the choir at First Baptist Church and is a frequent contributor to The Encourager, the church's monthly magazine. She co-leads, with writing mentor and friend Linda Gilden, the Writing4Him group, which meets at Christian Supply.

Candy is a C.L.A.S.S. (Christian Leaders Authors and Speakers Services) graduate and on faculty for the Glorieta Christian Writers Conferencel  and the Blue Ridge Mountains Christian Writers Conference. She is also a member of the American Society of Journalists and Authors.
